Ideas Assume The Form
Designer Bob Shema has long had a love of typographic fonts, icons and symbols. He appreciates these forms not only for their ability to communicate but also for being aesthetically pleasing shapes in themselves. He manipulates and combines these elements to create multilayered, sophisticated designs. The T-shirts become a canvas for his unique graphic explorations.
Each design is a study, layering color and patterns with characters and modern-day glyphs, contrasting hard edges with distressed elements that give the designs depth and attitude. Because we all use these kinds of shapes to communicate we can’t help but look for meaning behind the art, which makes each design even more intriguing, complex and -- ultimately -- just cool.
